Introductions

Today I met you for the first time. You became absolutely real and made your presence known. You said, "hello Mommy! I'm here!" And just like that, you moved into my heart. Each little kick pushed the walls of my heart bigger and bigger and caused my anticipation to grow more and more. I can't wait to see you. I can't wait to hold your hand. I can't wait to see how much your sister is going to love you. "Hello little person. It's your Mama and I'm so glad to meet you."

Holiday memories

I'm officially that girl. Standing in the middle of a crowd, tears pouring down my cheeks. It's just all too perfect. Dozens of friends clustered together sipping hot chocolate. Little girls huddled together on a blanket dancing to the music of the high school bands, grabbing candy as it flies through the air and waiting for Santa to make his big entrance. My little girl's eyes are as big as gum balls and her smile is forever plastered on her face. The feeling of family is so thick in the air you can taste it and I know that these memories we're making are some Lily will always cherish. These friends that are more like family. Parades and pizza dinners and talent shows with the girls after. Staying up late with "big girl" friends, giggling in a circle and playing games she's too little to understand. It's the holiday season and we couldn't be happier. :)

Giving Thanks

This thanksgiving, we have so many things to give thanks for and celebrate. And celebrate we did. The day was full of parade watching, yummy smells floating through the house and family scattered around the house with full tummies. We got lots of time with our favorite people and are looking forward to Thanksgiving #2 to celebrate with some more favorites. Today, Daddy cooked a fantastic butter sage turkey and we were thankful for his love of cooking and culinary skill. Saturday, Mimi will be cooking in Ohio and I will be thankful that there will be no more cooking required on my part. ;)

Rob pointed out the best part of Thanksgiving today...and that's the start of a wonderful holiday season. We're so excited for lots of family time and a new year full of new surprises and wonderful changes. Most of all, we're thankful for you... all of our friends and family, that make this life such a great one. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

The News is Out!

We're all very excited to announce...

We can't wait to add a new little bundle of joy to our family. Lil's obsessed with babies (or as she calls them, "nons") and I'm sure she'll be a great big sister.

We had an ultrasound a few weeks ago and everything looks great.

We're very excited to meet our baby May 15th!

Like always, I went to get my girl out of the tub and wrapped in a
snuggly towel. But... today, for the first time she protested. I had the yellow towel and immediately she screamed, "No, Mommy! No!!! Pink!!" That's my girl! :)

A special moment

This one comes with no pictures. It's too special for that. Tonite, Rob let me steal his special routine for the night and it is so sweet. Laying on the floor chatting away with my girl in her "big girl" bed, looking at her new stars. It doesn't get better than this. :)

Happy 2nd Birthday, Lily!

Ask Lily how old she is now and she'll confidently tell you, "two!". And today we celebrated her birthday the best we know how... With a toddler's favorite things; family time and fun!

For lunch, Lily and I picked up McDonalds and drove to the cider mill to meet Rob. Once parked, I let her have her lunch picnic style sitting in the front seat like a "big girl". She was so excited! Not only that, but she also learned how to roll the window down and proceeded to do it about a million times. This was the best day ever and we hadn't even left the car!

Once Rob arrived, we had a great time at the cider mill drinking cider, eating donuts and chasing the ducks yelling, "Quack! Quack!"

And the day wasn't done there. We visited with a good friend and her "non" (baby) and Lily got a good nap in. Then, it was off to experience Chuck E. Cheese's for the first time. We got there early and had almost the whole place to ourselves. Lil quickly warmed up to it and especially loved the slide. But, of course, as soon as the mouse came out, it was time for home. (Big furry anythings are not our style just yet. ;) )

All her presents were a big hit and she especially loves her light up moon and stars. Our baby is officially a baby no more and we had a great day celebrating.
